Traffic Center


Interstate Incidents:
  • Fulton Co.: Crash...I-20/eb at Fulton Industrial Blvd.
  • Jackson Co.: Overturned Vehicle...I-85/sb past exit 137, Highway 129 (Pendergrass), in the left lane. There is lots of ice in the area. The northbound left lane is also blocked.
  • Cobb Co.: Stall...I-75/sb near Delk Rd.

Major Highway and Surface Street Incidents:
  • Hall Co.: There is lots of ice in the county, especially on bridges and overpasses. Drive with caution.
  • Jackson Co.: There is lots of ice on bridges over I-85.
  • Cobb Co.: Injury Crash...East West Connector at Austell Rd.
  • Hall Co.: Injury Crash...Highway 129/sb at Roy Park Rd.
  • Hall Co.: Injury Crash...Queen City Pkwy. at Jesse Jewel Highway.
  • DeKalb Co.: Traffic Light Stuck...Flat Shoals Pkwy. at Snapfinger Rd.

Weekend Construction:
  • Gwinnett Co.: Highway 78 in both directions between Stone Dr. and Killian Hill Rd., from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. every night this weekend.
  • DeKalb Co.: I-285 between Memorial Dr. and E. Ponce de Leon Ave./Church St., blocking two lanes in each direction, from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
  • Clayton Co.: I-285/wb (Inner Loop) between I-75 and Riverdale Rd., in the two left lanes, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Ongoing Construction:
  • Atlanta: Another Phase of 14th St. Bridge Project...16th St./wb will be closed until the end of 2009. Access to I-75/nb will not be permitted, so use Williams St. and 14th St. to get to the interstate.
  • Douglas Co.: Bridge Construction...I-20 in both directions at Highway 92. Expect lane closures during non-peak drive times.
  • Fulton/Coweta Counties: I-85 in both directions south of Highway 74. There are various lane closures in both directions, during the midday and overnight hours. Expect delays and use Highway 29 as an alternate.
  • Atlanta: 14th Street Bridge Reconstruction...The bridge is closed until 2009. Use 10th St. and 17th St. as alternates. The I-75/sb and I-85/sb ramps to 10th/14th St. are closed until 2009 also, as well as Techwood Dr. and lanes on Williams St.
  • Cobb, Cherokee, and Bartow Counties: I-75/nb and sb from Glade Rd. to Barrett Parkway. There are various lane closures in this construction zone every weekend and on weeknights.
  • Gwinnett Co.: Reversible Lane Removal...Highway 78/wb and eb between Killian Hill Rd. and Stone Dr. There are various lane closures during the overnight hours and weekends.
  • Alpharetta: Year-Long Bridge Repair...Old Roswell Rd. between Mansell Rd. and Sanctuary Pkwy. will be closed until October 2009.
  • Sandy Springs: Culvert Replacement...Northside Dr. will be closed between Old Powers Rd. and Mt. Vernon Highway until Jan. 9th, 2009. A detour will be in place.
  • Atlanta: Sewer Work...Browns Mill Rd. between Central Ave. and Macedonia Rd. This work will last from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., everyday until the end of December. There will be various lane closures on Browns Mill Rd. and School Dr. will be closed between Humphries Dr. and Jonesboro Rd.
  • Atlanta: Sewer Evaluation...Expect various lane closures in the area of Peachtree St., Ralph McGill Blvd., Edgewood Ave., and Boulevard until February 12th, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Atlanta: Sewer Repair...Cascade Ave. between Central Villa Dr. and Eastridge Rd., from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., until December 19th, blocking one lane. That lane will be open during the weekends and overnights.
  • Cobb Co.: Bridge Repair...Discovery Blvd. is closed between Veterans Memorial Highway and Mableton Pkwy. The bridge over Nickajack Creek is damaged and is closed until further notice. Use Queen Mill Rd. and Fulton Industrial Blvd. as alternates.
  • Douglas Co.: Bridge Damage and Repair...Post Rd. is closed at the Dog River bridge until further notice. Southbound motorists should take North Helton Rd. to Liberty Rd. as a detour. Northbound motorists should take Banks Mill Rd. to Daniel Mill Rd. as a detour. Truck traffic should use Highway 5 as an alternate.
