A bipartisan commission is asserting the country should expect a terrorist attack using nuclear or biological weapons sometime in the next five years.

The report was written by the Commission on the Prevention of WMD Proliferation and Terrorism. Among other things, it concluded: "Our margin of safety is shrinking, not growing."

The report of the Commission on the Prevention of WMD Proliferation and Terrorism, led by former Sens. Bob Graham of Florida and Jim Talent of Missouri, acknowledges that terrorist groups still lack the needed scientific and technical ability to make weapons out of pathogens or nuclear bombs. It warns that gap can be overcome easily if terrorists should find scientists willing to share or sell their expertise.

"The United States should be less concerned that terrorists will become biologists and far more concerned that biologists will become terrorists," the report states.

"The biological threat is greater than the nuclear; the acquisition of deadly pathogens, and their weaponization and dissemination in aerosol form, would entail fewer technical hurdles than the theft or production of weapons-grade uranium or plutonium and its assembly into an improvised nuclear device."

It notes that the U.S. government's counterproliferation activities have been geared toward preventing nuclear terror. The commission recommends the prevention of biological terror be made a higher priority.

Study chairman Graham said anthrax remains the most likely biological weapon. However, he told the AP that contagious diseases, such as the influenza tstrain that killed 40 million early in the 20th century, are looming threats. That virus has been recreated in scientific labs, and there remains no inoculation to protect against it should it be stolen and released.

Graham said the threat of a terror attack using nuclear or biological weapons is growing "not because we have not done positive things but because adversaries are moving at an even faster pace to increase their access" to those materials.

He noted last week's rampage by a small group of gunmen in Mumbai.

"If those people had had access to a biological or nuclear weapon, they would have multiplied by orders of magnitude the deaths they could have inflicted," he said.

Al-Qaida remains the only terror group judged to be actively intent on conducting a nuclear attack against the United States, the report notes. It is not yet capable of building such a weapon and has yet to obtain one. But that could change if a nuclear weapons engineer or scientist were recruited to al-Qaida's cause, the report warns.

The report says the potential nexus of terrorism, nuclear and biological weapons is especially acute in Pakistan.

In fact, commission members were forced to cancel their trip to Pakistan this fall. The Islamabad Marriott Hotel that commission members were to stay in was blown up by terrorist bombs just hours before they were to have checked in.

"We think time is not our ally. The (United States) needs to move with a sense of urgency," Graham said.

Why is it when liberals say things against conservative people its freedom of speech, but if conservative people stand up for what they believe in; its like they broke the biggest law in the country. I was listening to your station a few days ago and I heard a woman complaining about Obama supporters being verbally abusive to her because she was wearing a McCain pin. Well, I also would like to share a story. My daughter and a few friends were going through the neighborhood circulating pro Obama literature and a man jumped out of his truck, cursed them and then proceeded to destroy all of the fliers they had left in doorways. They felt he was going to do them bodily harm. My point in sharing this story is that people on BOTH sides are very emotional about this election and unfortunately, only one man can win. I think it is time for radio talk show hosts and other media personalities to suggest that people embrace whoever the winner is and try to work together towards making this a better America. After all, our young people are watching us. In fact, the whole world is watching us. We must demonstrate that we are able to move on and work together even if our candidate loses. If someone does not try to "put out some of the fires" that are raging within voters on both sides, I'm afraid someone will do something extremely regrettable.

Sarah Palin has taken lack of knowledge to a whole new level and embraced ignorance. She's said herself that she doesn't think, er blink, when she has to make a life-changing decision.

I'm sure if you asked Palin in a friendly room if she were anti-intellectual, she'd say yes. She asked a Wasilla librarian what it would take to remove books she found offensive from the local library. She's against comprehensive sex-education. She wants schools to teach children creationism. She's anti-science.

Long story short: Palin is not satisfied with simply stemming the tide of her own informational intake. She wants to remove educational opportunities for America's children as well. And the way she drags her school-aged children around the campaign trail doesn't inspire much confidence in her educational values either.

There are plenty of happy, ignorant people in this country. But the fact that we have to reach back to the mid-19th century to find a party that embraced ignorance to the degree that we see in today's GOP should say something about the false correlation between the McCain/Palin ticket and the idea of change for the better.

An attorney in PA,Philip J.Berg has filed a lawsuit challenging Obama's citizenship qualificationsto be president. Obama at age 20 while living in Indonesia traveled to Pakistan. If he tried to travel there on a US passport,he would not have been allowed in the country.This was during the time when Russia had invaded Afganistan and pahistan was loaded with Afgan refugees. Are we to wait until he is sworn in to be delivered proof that he is in fact a United States Citizen? According to Obama, McCain agrees with President Bush 94% of the time… so electing him is like
re-electing George Bush, which gives us 4 more of the last 8 years – right?

So, following that logic, I’m guessing that Obama agrees with Pelosi about 100% of the time… so electing him is like electing Pelosi to be president, which gives us 4 more of the last 2 years that she has been presiding over the congress– which by far have been the worst of the last 8.

I can actually buy that electing Obama would essentially put Pelosi’s ideas in the White House… more mortgages for people who can’t afford them, more corrupt government programs (like Fannie and Freddy), and more regulations that apply to the rest of us, but don’t apply to the Feds.

NEW YORK In a surprising a letter to the editor published in The New York Times today, the chief prosecutor of the Weather Underground in the 1970s expressed outrage over the linking of Barack Obama to Bill Ayers by the McCain campaign, adding, "Although I dearly wanted to obtain convictions against all the Weathermen, including Bill Ayers, I am very pleased to learn that he has become a responsible citizen."

William C. Ibershof also corrects a charge in the Times: "I do take issue with the statement in your news article that the Weathermen indictment was dismissed because of 'prosecutorial misconduct.' It was dismissed because of illegal activities, including wiretaps, break-ins and mail interceptions, initiated by John N. Mitchell, attorney general at that time, and W. Mark Felt, an F.B.I. assistant director."

Felt, of course (you may have already forgotten), was also known as a guy called "Deep Throat."

As a graduate of the University of GEORGIA journalism College, I am always watching things that I was taught about in college. One such item is the way you can make a product or person or candidate look by the use of the camera angle. After the first debate I noticed that the producer was using flattering angles for NOBAMA and
unflattering camera angles on MCCAIN. I decided to watch this debate and score the camera angles.
There were four (4) camera shots
1 OBAMA SHOULDER"S UP (strong comanding presidential)

2. MCCAIN Sholder's up (strong commanding presidental)

3 OBAMA WITH McCain somewhere in this shot while NOBAMA is talking.

4 Mccain with Obama in his shot wihile talking.

Why was it inportant to the debate outcome? When you put someone else in the speakers shot you are weaking the speaker, you can take the audiences mind of the current speaker and his comments thereby blurring the message by introduction the actions of the background character's into the speakers shot.

Also, a camera shot of just the one candidate from the waist up is much more flattering and more of a powerful image of the current speaker. It was just as I had noticed in the first debate. Nearly 87% of NObamas speaking time the camera's shot was from the sholder up and no McCain in the shot.

But if you play McCains speaking time over 59% of the time the camera had Obama in his the background which game Obama over 173% more camera time that McCain in this debate. He got his cameera time ALONE and then he got in
the backrounf of McCains shots also.

This is a method used by producers of commercials to get more time for their product. You can call it product placement if you like but I call it blackground journalism! Please let all the unwittingly viewing public on to this fact so they will not be at the mercy of producers that have OBAMA as their candidate. Also notice the actural time that each man spoke. Arrogant NOBAMA did not adhear to the time lights and after a while I thought the modirator would stop him but he was useless. OBAMA the ARROGANT JUST KEPT GOING WITH HIS "blah blah blah!!!

John McCain has had a field day with Barack Obama's tenuous associations with Bill Ayers, a former member of the Weather Underground who is now a Chicago professor.

Obama has said repeatedly that Ayers' radical past (he was involved in a handful of bombings in the 1960s) occurred when Barack was just a child, and he repudiates those actions. Nevertheless, McCain wants more. He claimed recently:

"I think not only a repudiation but an apology for ever having anything to do with an unrepentant terrorist is due the American people."
Now, however, the Chicago Tribune is pointing out McCain's own radical associations with G. Gordon Liddy:

How close are McCain and Liddy? At least as close as Obama and Ayers appear to be. In 1998, Liddy's home was the site of a McCain fundraiser. Over the years, he has made at least four contributions totaling $5,000 to the senator's campaigns--including $1,000 this year.

Last November, McCain went on his radio show. Liddy greeted him as "an old friend," and McCain sounded like one. "I'm proud of you, I'm proud of your family," he gushed. If anyone is watching Diane Sawyer's Portrait of a President, I hope you are as upset as I am of how slanted the presentation is. How much more obvious can the media be of who their choice is for president? What happened to a non-biased, balanced source of news? How can they present Obama with a "Leave it to Beaver" background and present McCain as a cheating husband, participating in a scandel, and whose wife was addicted to pain killers? I shouldn't be so shocked, because the media portrays a liberal biased side frequently. But, frankly, I'm outraged!

Our "maverick" is looking defeated. I'm afraid to say that he is pretending to make it look as though he has a hand in the bailout when in actuallity, his opponent is the one who is, and was behind shaping certain components of the bailout. Who is McCain fooling? Open your eyes people. God, help us all!

All of a sudden the president wants to tell us that we are in a crisis. I thought he said the economy was strong - Like John McCain said. When are WE going to wake up? As a future president, will John McCain make the presidential debate on Friday during this crucial time in our lives? We need to hear from him on Friday if he wants to get our vote. I'm not falling for the "country going scared" tactic. Where are his balls if he is going to be our president? Will he continue telling us the misleading truths about his running mate, or even his opponent? Where is the truth when WE need it?

Only one question: In the past 19 years, through all the appeals, all the lawyers, etc., why is is that in the last 2 days before the execution they are just now fighting so hard for his life? I think that 19 years, even for our justice system, is by far enough time to prove your innocense!

Here's some real truth Sean. I mean, it kills me that someone would claim t his guy isn't the most biased political pundit out there now. I mean, I agree with the things Olbermann and Matthews say...but I'd also admit they're biased.

If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're "exotic,

* Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, a quintessential American story.

* If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
* Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you're a maverick.

* Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.
* Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well rounded.

* If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first

black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive

that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law

professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with more

tnan 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human

Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a

state of 13 million people while sponsoring 13120bills and serving on the

Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs

committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.

* If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council

and 6 years as the mayor of a town with fewer than 7,000 people, 20 months as

the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to

become the country's second highest ranking executive.

* If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2

beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real

Christian.

* If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your

disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a Christian.

* If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the

proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.

* If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other

option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen

daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible.

* If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a

prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community,

then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't

represent America's.

* If your husband is nicknamed "First Dude," with at

least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to

vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the

secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.
